Snowmobile Tours

Telluride's colorful mining history left behind more than five hundred miles of the most spectacular snowmobile trails in America. Knowledgeable and skilled guides take guests high into the mountains, up narrow canyons, across snow covered meadows, and past beautiful rivers and frozen waterfalls. Long-abandoned mining camps remain as they were left at the turn of the last century, and the occasional reclusive animals round out one of our most popular activities.
The frontier town of Alta was the site of the world's first alternating-current power plant, and today provides the backdrop for the Alta Lakes Observatory. This elegant and remote lodge was painstakingly hand-crafted from native logs and stone, and sits adjacent to one of the area's most stunning alpine lakes. Featured on catalog covers and photographed year-round, the Observatory is the perfect setting for a unique lunch stop - from white glove plated to burgers and brats.
The fully-renovated mining town of Dunton offers guests a gourmet lunch in the historic Mercantile Building, after a morning snowmobile tour through the Lizard Head Wilderness. One surprise at Dunton is the buildings - old, weathered mining shacks on the outside; luxurious accommodations on the inside. The other surprise is the natural hot springs, offering weary snowmobilers a chance to soak before heading home.
